How to get to Gili Trawangan

Gili Trawangan is a tourist island that is the target of foreign tourists, including domestic tourists. A small island to the west of Lombok Island and included in West Nusa Tenggara Province. There are three small islands in North Lombok Regency, namely Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air. However, Gili Trawangan is the first to rise and is also the most visited by domestic and foreign tourists. 

How to get to Gili Trawangan can be via Bali Island or Lombok Island. From Bali Island, you can take a fastboat from Padangbai Harbor and get off directly at Gili Trawangan. Travel time on the boat is about 1.5 hours. Another option is through Benoa Harbor, also by Best Bali Gili Fast Boat. 

A cheap option can be by ferry from Padangbai Port to Lembar Harbor on Lombok Island. Of course, it took about 4 hours longer. From Sheet to crossing to Gili Trawangan, you have to go to Bangsal Harbor first. Another way is via Lombok Island. To get to Lombok Island, you can go by air and enter via Lombok International Airport (BIL) in Praya, Central Lombok Regency. 

Then from BIL drive to Bangsal Harbor or Teluk Nara. You can also go to Senggigi by fastboat from Bali. The range of taxi or car rental costs from BIL is IDR 250,000 - IDR 350,000. You can also take Damri to Senggigi, then continue by taking a taxi. 

Travel time from BIL to Teluk Nara is about 2 hours. Usually tourists prefer to go through Teluk Nara, because from the car park to the speedboat is very close. Meanwhile at Bangsal Harbor, you have to walk from the car park to the pier or take a cidomo (a type of wagon).

From Teluk Nara, the option is to rent a speedboat. You could say to use it you have to rent a boat. Prices vary, but at least people who climb up apply. For example, there is a speedboat that offers a price of IDR 400,000 for three people. Every time you add one person, you will be charged an additional IDR 50,000 This fast boat can load between 10 and 15 people. 

There are many boats moored in Nara Bay to choose from. Travel time is approximately 20 minutes, depending on the weather. Another way is to try asking where you plan to stay, if you have a partner who rents a speedboat to cross from Nara Bay. 

Some of the bungalows also have speedboats for rent. The same applies to the shuttle facility from BIL to Teluk Nara. Resorts usually provide this facility. While some bungalows also have acquaintances who make it easier to find car rentals.

Meanwhile, Bangsal Harbor uses public transportation which is also used by the local community. You can take a public transport ship managed by the cooperative at a rate of IDR 15,000 to Gili Trawangan, plus an additional fee of IDR 1,000 per person. Travel time is approximately 45 minutes to one hour depending on the weather. It should be noted that the departure time is only until 5 pm. Keep in mind, the ship will only leave when the minimum number of people on board has been reached, which is about 20 people. Another option at Bangsal Harbor is to take a public speedboat at a rate of IDR 75,000.
